IMPORTANT:

All editors spend time and effort on their edits, editing isn't easy sometimes and that's why I want to take the time to inform you about why its wrong to embed and repost others edits. This does not apply to reaction video edits and fancams.

Embedding is a form of content theft and it hurts the creators of the content. When you embed a video, though it links back to their profile, it does not link back to the original post, meaning if someone DOES want to support the creator, they won't be able to find it.

By embedding videos it does not give attention (read: clout) to the original post which might seem trivial but there's nothing wrong with a creator wanting credit and to SEE people interact with their creations, something they made and spent time on. Some editors & creators also judge how well the edit did based on the interactions it gets.

Reposting hurts the creators even more because the creators won't even find where their creations are being posted, especially when people for example download an edit from twitter and post it on Instagram. Creators shouldn't have to remind you not to repost their edits, it should be common sense not to STEAL something YOU didn't make. It's stealing.

I often remind people under my edits not to embed or repost but it happens anyways. Some 20 second edits can take hours to make, my longest and most meaningful edit (changbins birthday edit) took 3 weeks to make and people embedded it in seconds, something I put my everything Into.
If you want your own caption on someones edit, you can quote rt.
If you tag downloader bots under my posts I will have to block you.

If you so badly want to repost someone's edit, you can ask them before doing so, it really isn't that hard to give them at least some respect before stealing their content because a lot of editors edit for fun on their free time, but when people keep stealing their creations, it stops being fun and discourages creators because it sucks when you spend time and effort into making something when someone could come and steal it in 3 seconds and go as far as removing watermarks and posting it somewhere else for clout.

That being said, some editors don't care about these types of things but the least you can do is ask before embedding or reposting. (if you're going to do it).
